COACH- MENTOR

Certified MCC Coach-Mentor

I received my ICF certification at the Masters level (MCC) in 2022. In 2023, I attended an advanced mentor training with Fran Fisher, MCC, a well-known and respected master coach, in her advanced certified Coach-Mentor, ACMC, training to become Certified Coach-Mentor. I continue my mastery journey with Fran and participate in monthly learning sessions with fellow MCC colleagues.

I’m deeply committed to growing and supporting the next generation of ICF Leadership Coaches. I have and am willing to work with coaches wanting to achieve the next ICF level of certification at the ACC and PCC levels and/or simply want to continue their own journey to coach mastery and personal and professional development.

I welcome the opportunity to support you on your continuous learning path.

Explore the Mentorship Experience

This section outlines the structure, goals, and benefits of the Coach-Mentor process. Learn what to expect from mentorship, how sessions are conducted, and how feedback is delivered.

Why Mentorship Matters Early in the Coaching Journey

The Importance of Early Mentorship

It’s often said that as soon as you receive the certification from your ICF Coaching School, it’s wise to get yourself a Mentor. Having a Mentor early in your coaching journey means you can avoid the development of poor habits to be undone at the PCC and MCC levels. Of course, this will require a commitment of time, energy, curiosity and an openness to learning.

Goals for Your Mentorship Journey

If interested, I invite you to begin this journey with a couple of goals in mind: • To move and enhance your coaching mastery to a higher level • To leverage your strengths and competencies to provide even greater service to your clients • To put yourself in the position of a life-long learner as a coach

What You Will Gain

Some learnings and benefits of this experience would include: • Develop a much deeper understanding of coaching skills • Develop a deeper understanding of the meaning of the ICF competencies and behaviors resulting in greater self-confidence • More clearly understand and appreciate the ICF Assessor’s expectations at the ACC, PCC and MCC levels • Hone and develop your coaching presence • Begin to understand your specific coaching style and the kind of clients who might benefit from a relationship with you

Session Format and Environment

The mentoring sessions are for individuals and could include a limited number or preferably at least 6 sessions. The intent is to provide a safe environment and partnership that allows the individual to learn and experiment.

ICF-Based Feedback System

The mentoring has a structured process. The mentee will be asked to submit a recording of a coaching session of their choice. Both the Mentor and Mentee will assess the recording against specific ICF competencies and behaviors. Feedback will be delivered in writing and in a conversation, focusing on at least 2 strengths and a development area. This process will continue for all sessions.

Coach-Mentor Testimonials

Coach-Mentor Testimonials

“Melinda has fundamentally helped me to take a very important career-decision in FY24, by providing coaching and mentoring support. With her great coaching skills and by asking the important, yet sometimes "uncomfortable" questions, she helped me gaining clarity on what I want to achieve and on the direction I am aiming to pursue. I am super grateful for that, as I do not regret my decision for one second.

On another note, Melinda offered Strength-Coaching based on my Clifton Strengths Assessment, which also provided very valuable insights and uncovered some of my less-prioritized strengths and abilities - and showed me ways how to enhance it.

All in all, I am more than happy and grateful to have worked with Melinda and will always recommend her as a Coach, Mentor and colleague to work with! I appreciate her great experience as a Coach, Leader and person.”

Senior Account Lead
Diamond Client, Global Consulting Firm

Melinda is an exceptional coach, and her strengths in understanding the Company environment and how to guide others within it are truly commendable. She demonstrates a deep knowledge of the company's culture, values, and processes, which greatly contributes to her effectiveness as a coach.

One of Melinda's standout abilities is her skill in asking thought-provoking questions that encourage reflection. This helps you critically assess your actions and decisions, fostering a deeper understanding of your strengths and areas for improvement. Reflecting on my strengths and what makes me 'sing' as she calls it has been very important in reminding me what things I should look for in a role in the new org.

Moreover, Melinda has a talent for motivating you to take action. She instills a sense of enthusiasm and determination, empowering you to step out of your comfort zone and pursue goals with confidence. This was particularly helpful to me as I navigated difficult stakeholder relationship. Through her coaching, I was better able to understand the broader landscape and think about how I might show up differently to ensure we achieved the Product’s objectives.”
